Our Recommendation
Tier 01 · Grades K–3

First Steps

Warm, accessible, and built for young learners. Big feelings, clear characters, and concepts that feel like play before they feel like learning.

SEL in this tier Kindness & empathy Sharing & fairness Courage & belonging

Tier 02 · Grades 3–8

The Path

Characters face real choices. Kids start seeing themselves in the story — and asking better questions about friendship, fairness, and what it means to do right.

SEL in this tier Loyalty under pressure Moral courage Standing up for others Identity & influence Community & belonging Forgiveness & grace
Tier 03 · Grades 4–9

The Journey

Eight films. Three thematic threads. Each program is a complete five-day SEL experience that asks harder questions — about honesty, worth, courage, and what kind of person you're becoming.

SEL in this tier True value & worth Honesty & integrity Seeing past difference Character when no one watches Generosity vs. greed Identity & courage Love & belonging Priorities & what matters
Thematic Thread Three
Money, Worth & What Actually Matters

Four stories that ask children to examine what they're chasing — and whether it's worth it. Each film explores the tension between what money can buy and what it can't.

Also in The Journey
Grief, Wonder & What Comes After

A film that stands apart from the other threads — quieter, more interior, and built around the question of what it means to believe in something you can't prove and can't stop needing.

Tier 04 · Grades 6–9

The Summit

Real ambiguity. Real consequences. Films that don't let you off the hook — and curriculum that doesn't either.

SEL in this tier Belonging & identity Integrity under pressure Grief & resilience Bias & perspective-taking Voice & self-expression Moral reckoning

Questions

Things Parents Often Ask

What's the difference between the 5-Day Program and Family Movie Night? +
The 5-Day Program breaks the film into five 15–20 minute daily segments, each accessed by scanning a QR code in your guide — no login needed. You discuss and reflect after each segment. The Family Movie Night guide includes a direct YouTube link to the full film, free to watch with ads. When the credits roll, you open the discussion guide. Same film, same SEL concepts — different pace. Many families start with Movie Night and return for the full program.
Do I need teaching experience? +
Not at all. The 5-Day guide walks you through everything — what to watch for, what questions to ask, and how to respond. The Family Movie Night guide is even simpler: watch, then read the questions aloud. You're the guide, not the expert, and both formats are designed exactly for that role.
Which tier should we start with? +
Use the finder above for a starting point — but you know your child best. If you're unsure, start one tier back. The experience will still be rich, and you can always move up with the next program.
Can I use this in a classroom or co-op? +
Yes. The 5-Day Program works well in homeschool co-ops, small groups, and traditional classrooms — the discussion format is built for groups. The Family Movie Night guide works for classroom viewing days or parent nights.
